Thanks for checking out the Family Room Recordings Spring 2020 Update!
Spring has definitely sprung here in Iowa. Grass is turning green, trees are budding, and birds are singing. It seems the entire world has been put on hold for this Covid-19 virus, which is dominating every aspect of life in the USA currently. Our everyday routines are mostly put off and life is a little more stressful as we all wait to see how it all shakes out. In addition to the Covid-19 concern, the vinyl industry also got off to a bad start due to the fire in a California plant which supplied lacquers to many mastering engineers. They are basically the first step in making records. The good news is that despite these two unfortunate setbacks, we are not that far behind schedule yet. In fact there is a chance we will still make our normal Fall release schedule for FRR-004.
FRR-004 Progress
The finishing touches are being put on our fourth release as you read this. The album art is also mostly complete, and everything is coming together nicely. Working on this release has definitely been keeping us going. There are three songs per side, are our best work to date. Most of it was recorded by last October or November but has been reworked in fine detail since then, editing, mixing, and arranging it, and we are really excited to finally share it with the world. Each song shows a progression of our skills in sound design and music production. We think it is a very unique and fun record, and hope you like it.
Excelsior Studio and Galleria
Our good friends at Excelsior Studio and Galleria have offered to carry our records! As mentioned in an earlier post on our Facebook page, this is a really cool gallery in Illinois, USA made from a renovated schoolhouse, and now full of beautiful arts and crafts of all kinds. We are honored to have our work featured there. Check out their page and follow them!
We are still looking to collaborate with as many people as possible, especially record stores, distributors, other labels, and basically anyone else!
